Welcome to the Laboratory for Preclinical Imaging and Imaging Technology of the Werner Siemens-Foundation

From Mouse to Man - from the Laboratory Bench to the Patient's Bed!

The Laboratory for Preclinical Imaging and Imaging Technology in Tübingen was established in 2005. The laboratory could deploy to a facility with latest technical infrastructure, around a team of highly motivated students and scientists.

This development from a small laboratory to a state-of-the-art unit with international visibility was enabled by a generous funding of the Werner Siemens-Foundation.

The mission of the Laboratory for Preclinical Imaging and Imaging Technology of the Werner Siemens-Foundation is to bridge the gap between in vitro biomedical research and in vivo imaging. This endevour is achieved by developing novel imaging technologies and by using innovative imaging probes and animal models to gain information about physiology and pathplogy in vivo. A close association with the University Hospital (UKT) enables translational research and early clinical studies and ensures a fast transition of know-how from the research laboratory to the patient's beds.

The Laboratory for Preclinical Imaging and Imaging Technology of the Werner Siemens-Foundation is the
"European Training and Reference Site for Siemens Preclinical Solutions".

The 6th Winter Conference of the European Society for Molecular Imaging - TOPIM 2012

PROCESSING BIOMEDICAL IMAGES:
Visualization, Modelling, Segmentation, Quantification, Registration - Contributions from Physics and Mathematics

Date: April 15 to 20, 2012
Venue: Ecole de Physique in Les Houches, France

Deadline for abstract submission: January 25, 2012

Abstract TOPICS:

  • Image Reconstruction
  • Image Processing and Analysis
  • Quantification
  • Modelling
  • Image Management and Visualisation

Images speak for themselves, but exactly what language are they speaking? On the one hand, incredibly realistic image rendering from the entertainment industry is entering the bio-medical field and will without any doubt change scientists' and doctors' practice. On the other hand, progress in image computing science applied to image calculation, analysis and modelling are building up precedently unseen images of biomedical parameters.

TOPIM 2012 will bring together prominent specialists from both worlds to discuss the state-of-the-art and the future in modern processing of biomedical images.

For details on speakers, programme, abstract submission, or registration please visit www.topim.eu or contact the ESMI office via office@e-smi.eu
